INTRODUCING AND PLANNING THE FAITH PROMISE OFFERING

It is best to introduce the Faith Promise Plan for Missionary Giving at your annual Missionary Conference.  The conference allows sufficient time to teach the concept of Faith Promise Giving as well as generating enthusiasm for doing the work of the Lord in spreading the gospel to the ends of the earth. Here are some hints on planning your conference.  (Dr. Mundy provides a complete planning guide for all conferences he conducts.)

1.  Select dates early.  A year or more in advance is wise.
2.  Choose conference personnel early.
            A.   The Main Bible Speaker.  He should have experiential knowledge of the Faith Promise Plan.
            B.  Missionary Appointees.  Baptist Mid-Missions has Appointees available all over the United States for conferences.
            C.  Veteran Missionaries.  Perhaps one of your own will be on furlough and available.  Baptist Mid-Missions also has veteran missionaries available.
           D.  Social Agencies, Colleges, etc.
3.  Order bulletin inserts and Faith Promise Cards from Baptist Mid-Missions.   Use the inserts on four consecutive Sundays leading up to the conference.
4.  Set a goal for the Faith Promise Offering.  It should stretch the faith of the people and should increase year after year.
5.  Choose a theme and a theme song for the conference.
6.  Prepare a thermometer or other indicator for the Faith Promise Offering.
7.  Select committees to carry out the responsibilities of the conference.
Hospitality, Decorations, Banquet, etc.
8.  Announce the conference and Faith Promise Offering for several weeks.   Use every available method you have of communicating to your congregation.
9.  Be positive and enthusiastic about the conference and Faith Promise Offering.
10. When the offering is received, make sure every individual has the opportunity to decide how much to give.
Giving is very personal and should never be forced.  Each believer must decide personally what they sense God would have them to give.
