Dear Family and Friends:
We greet you warmly in the Name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Without Him we would have no ministry. A common saying during the Christmas season is “Jesus is the Reason for the Season.” Actually everything centers in Him, since He is the Creator and sustainer of the universe, including the world and all it contains. John 1:1-3 says: “1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. “ We are grateful for the ministry He has given us.
And without you who support us we would have to curtail our ministry. Thank you for praying for us and supporting us financially. Thank you so very much.
January began like any other January. Bob had surgery scheduled for the second week, so no meetings were scheduled then. Surgery was to be on the 11th, but he got very sick on the 9th with a dislodged gallstone. He went to the ER early Thursday morning and in a few hours had a scope put down his throat to remove the gallstone. The doctor actually broke it up so it could pass through. It had been blocking the main bile duct. He was admitted to the hospital, had gall bladder surgery at the scheduled time on Friday, and returned home Saturday. Recovery proceeded normally and we flew to Sacramento, CA, on the January 25th for a conference in Yuba City that weekend, including a “How to Manage Your Money Seminar. It was a blessed conference.
The next weekend we had some great meetings in the Detroit area, then in Iowa, Michigan. and Ohio.
In April we flew to Maine for three conferences, which the Lord blest. One of the churches there had their best Faith Promise Offering for Missions ever. Bob spoke twenty times in Maine and we did a lot of special music, including one concert on piano, organ and cowbells. Also we did two finance seminars.
A highlight of the spring was the wedding of our oldest grandchild, Mike, who was married to Michelle Harnica on May 24th at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Toledo. It was truly a Christ-honoring wedding as their testimonies were clearly given. Our son, Mike’s dad, performed the ceremony. As a special feature Mike sang to Michelle a song which he composed, words and music. He accompanied himself on the guitar. We don’t know how he got through it, since many of us were moved to tears.
We will minister at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Mishawaka, IN on June 22nd. Margaret’s family reunion takes place in Berne, IN, June 28 & 29. Ron and Mary are leaving for Hawaii June 25th to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary and we will be keeping their son, Nathan for about 2 weeks. We will be attending the Baptist Mid-Missions Annual Conference in Elyria, OH, July 7-10.
We will be ministering at Wawasee Heights Baptist Church in Syracuse, IN, a weekend in August, but the date is yet to be determined. It is the church Bob pastored for over nine years. While serving there we saw many souls saved, relocated the church and constructed a new building and a new parsonage. We look forward to returning there.
We are planning to vacation August 2-9 at the Maranatha Bible Conference on the shores of Lake Michigan at Muskegon, where we will sit at the feet of Dr. Erwin Lutzer, Bible teacher and pastor of The Moody Church in Chicago.
Your prayers will be very much appreciated as we continue to work on our ministry schedule for the remainder of the year. And pray that more churches will begin using the Faith Promise method. Finally, let’s all pray for America and for revival. How we need His special blessings and anointing.
Yours for World Missions,
Bob & Margaret Mundy
